Biography

Lea Márquez -Peterson is a business broker and the owner of TucsonBizForSale.com.  She and her team assist with confidential business sales and business valuations. Previously, she was a multi unit retailer in Arizona for several years.  In addition, Lea is the Executive Director of the Greater Tucson Leadership, the Founder and Chairperson of the Pima County Small Business Commission and the Past Chairperson of the City of Tucson's Small Business Commission.  She has recently been appointed by Governor Napolitano to the State of Arizona Small Business Council. She is also the Past President of the local chapter of NAWBO (the National Association of Women Business Owners), and sits on the Executive committee for the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. 

Lea has been recognized with several awards.  They include most recently the

•·       2007 Entrepreneurial Fellow by the UofA  Entrepreneurship  program

•·       2007 Woman of Influence (awarded by Inside Tucson Business)

•·       2003 Small Business Leader of the Year (awarded by the Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Wells Fargo Bank)

•·       2002 Tucson Minority Small Business Retailer of the Year (awarded by the Small Business Development Council)

•·       2001 Woman Business Owner of the Year (awarded by the National Association of Women Business Owners)

•·       2000 Tucson Small Business of the Year - Retailer/Supplier category (awarded by the Small Business Development Council)

She received her undergraduate degrees in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from the University of Arizona, and her Masters in Business Administration from Pepperdine University.  Lea resides in Tucson with her husband, Dan, and children, Emma and Luke.
